Questions

How much does a Ring Ring bike subscription cost?

From DKK 89 a month on a 12-month plan, DKK 99 on 6 months and DKK 119 with no commitment. There is no setup fee.

Why are the bikes ugly?

We use second-hand bikes from local bike shops and only upgrade the parts that fail: tyres, lights and brakes. That helps keep the price low. Used bikes can still be stolen, so always use the lock.

What happens if my bike breaks?

Drop by your shop during opening hours and ride off on another bike straight away. The shop fixes the old one. No extra cost.

What if my bike is stolen?

Report it on politi.dk and pay the bike's DKK 800 replacement price. Your deposit is deducted, so we charge DKK 500 to your card. You get a new bike for a new deposit, and if the old one turns up you get DKK 600 back.

When does my subscription end?

When you have returned the bike to the shop. If you cancel without returning it, the subscription keeps running, and after 14 days you pay the bike's DKK 800 replacement price. Your deposit is deducted, and we charge the rest to your card.

Is there a deposit?

Yes, DKK 300, which you get back when you return the bike in good order. The setup fee is DKK 0.

Can I get a bike without a Danish CPR number?

You can select a passport instead of MitID when booking. We agree the practical identity check before handover.

Can I choose a women's or men's bike?

Yes, you choose when you book. The bike shop finds the right size for you when you pick it up.

Which bike shop will I get?

We find a bike shop close to where you live and let you know when your bike is ready. That's also where you swap it if it breaks.

Plan your daily cycling in Copenhagen

Start with three addresses: home, work or campus, and the shops you use most. Copenhagen Municipality’s cycling information includes maps and guidance to help you examine the connections. Choose a route around your routine; the shortest line on a map is not necessarily your preferred ride.

Living on Amager and studying in Frederiksberg makes for a different journey from living and studying in Nørrebro. Try the route before your first busy morning, locate parking and consider whether cycling and trains work together for you. Include your postcode when booking so we can investigate a practical shop.
