Bike rental or subscription in Denmark: choose for your stay

Compare daily rental, shared bikes, buying used and a monthly bike subscription by trip length, service needs and how you return the bike.

For a weekend visit, a monthly bike subscription is rarely the first option to investigate. For several months of commuting, having the same bike and an arrangement for servicing becomes more relevant. Compare the options over the same actual period.

Four options to investigate

Option Consider it when Check before choosing
Daily rental You need a bike on a specific date Collection, return deadline and total price
Shared bike You need occasional individual trips Parking rules, ride price and availability
Subscription You cycle regularly for months Commitment, notice, service and theft charges
Used bike purchase You want ownership and possible resale Condition, repair needs and proof of ownership

This is a decision checklist, not a test of named rental companies. Actual rules and prices vary by provider.

Compare the full period

A daily and a monthly price are not directly comparable. Multiply the daily rate by the days you will rent and add any fees. With a subscription, account for the commitment and notice period, including payments that may remain after you leave.

Show deposits separately. They affect the money you need at the start, but can be refunded or applied to charges under the agreement. Our subscription price guide explains the distinction.

What Ring Ring offers

You request a women's or men's bike and we check for a suitable local shop. You do not unlock an app-based bike immediately or reserve a specific model by sending the form. We confirm the shop and collection arrangement after contacting you.

Prices are DKK 119 on the monthly plan, DKK 99 with a six-month commitment and DKK 89 with a twelve-month commitment. Setup is DKK 0 and the deposit is DKK 300. See the subscription overview.

Service changes the comparison

Ask where faults are handled, whether you need to visit during opening hours and what happens when no replacement bike is available. Included servicing does not necessarily mean home collection or roadside assistance.

Ring Ring uses your assigned shop and does not operate service vans. Ordinary faults and wear are handled under the agreement; theft and damage you cause are separate charges. The stated theft replacement price is DKK 800, with the deposit deducted.

Plan the last day

Daily rental can have a fixed return time. A subscription requires notice and return under its terms. A purchased bike must be kept, transported or sold. Leave time for that final step before deciding which option is most convenient.
